Representation Items

Representation-item containers.

Representation item entities define individual objects that are present in a CAD file, such as a bolt, wheel, or table leg. Representation items are the containers that hold geometry and tessellation for a part definition. Every representation item inherits from the base representation-item entity and carries a local coordinate system, expressed relative to its parent product occurrence’s coordinate system. A representation item is contained in a part definition, which scales and positions it within 3D space; the result is a 3D part that can be assembled into higher-level product occurrences such as an engine, a car, or a table.
