Publication and Named Views
Named views and publications.
Publications capture named views and other named references. Each reference is a publication linked item (entity type kA3DTypeAsmPublicationLinkedItem), whose data can be accessed using the A3DAsmPublicationLinkedItemGet() function. As of version 24.0, publications are supported only for the CATIA V5 format for the following elements: edge, face, line, part body, plane, point, sketch, and vertex. As of version 26.6, a publication that points to a feature references the faces that make it up (a pad and its faces, or a sewn surface designating a group of faces): one linked item per face, so A3DAsmPublicationData may then hold several linked items. When the targeted entity cannot be located or matched to its faces (the publication designates no target, the pointed geometry was removed from the model, or the feature it points to left no face that can be matched to it), the publication is still created with its name, but its linked item has an empty reference: A3DAsmPublicationLinkedItemGet() then returns a null referenced entity.
