Important Information regarding SFI 2026.1.0 Release.

Floating License Manager Version Change

With the upcoming release of SpinFire Insight 2026.1.0 on the 1st April 2026, major changes are coming for floating licenses:

  • New version of the Floating License Manager 11.19.8.0 will be required to use floating licenses with SpinFire Insight 2026.1.0 and subsequent releases.

  • The new FLM is not backward compatible with previous versions of SpinFire Insight or Ultimate.

  • Existing Floating license files will not work in the new Floating License Manager due to new encryption.

  • the options file (if used) actifyd.opt will need to be renamed spinfired.opt

  • Firewall inbound rules will need to be re-applied after the FLM migration due to the change in directory and executable name change.

  • Requests for the new floating license files can be made to Support after 2026.1.0 has been released. Helpdesk for SpinFire Insight.

  • This change will not impact Node Locked or Site Access licenses, which will continue to work with SpinFire Insight 2026.1.0 and subsequent releases without any changes.

  2. SpinFire Insight .MSI Installer For advanced users requiring more control like command-line and silent installations.

Note - To use our next release of SpinFire Insight 2026.1.0 floating license customer must request a new copy of the floating licenses from Support, install the latest FLM, reapplie the firewall configuration and then apply the new license to the FLM and then finally install SpinFire 2026.1.0, the users will need to click “Activate Floating License” or be provided the license files via 3rd party means. Installation SpinFire Using the .exe File

Follow these steps to install SpinFire using the .exe file:

  1. Download the SpinFire Insight .EXE Installer .

  2. Run the Installer as Administrator:

    • Navigate to your Downloads folder.

    • Right-click SpinFire.x64.exe and select “Run as Administrator”.

  3. Follow the Installation Wizard:

    • Select your preferred language and click OK to proceed.

Important

📌 Note: Running the installer as Administrator ensures a smooth installation without permission issues.

If a valid license file is not found:

  • Select No License

  • Licenses can be applied after installation by navigating to Tools > Activation

If a valid Seat ID is provided:

  • Copy and paste or manually enter the Seat ID

  • Ensure there are no extra blank spaces before or after the Seat ID

If a physical license.al file is provided:

  • Select License File

  • Click Browse, then navigate to the folder containing the license.al file

  • Select the file and proceed with activation
