Floating License Manager Version Change

With the upcoming release of SpinFire Insight 2026.1.0 on the 1st April 2026, major changes are coming for floating licenses:

  • New version of the Floating License Manager 11.19.8.0 will be required to use floating licenses with SpinFire Insight 2026.1.0 and subsequent releases.

  • The new FLM is not backward compatible with previous versions of SpinFire Insight or Ultimate.

  • Existing Floating license files will not work in the new Floating License Manager due to new encryption.

  • Requests for the new floating license files can be made to Support after 2026.1.0 has been released. Helpdesk for SpinFire Insight.

  • This change will not impact Node Locked or Site Access licenses, which will continue to work with SpinFire Insight 2026.1.0 and subsequent releases without any changes.

After a SpinFire Insight has been purchased, Activation is required before the software can be utilized. Begin activation from either the Options tab or the Tools menu.

There are three types of licenses for SpinFire Insight: Node-Locked , Floating and Site Access.

  • Node Locked License is for a single computer with a limited number of transfers for cases where you have replaced a computer, the license on the old computer will cease to function after the transfer.

  • Floating License works in conjunction with a floating-license server; the total number of floating seats that can be running at any one time is determined by the total number of licenses that have been purchased.

  • Site Access License is a node locked license that is dependent on your computer being a member of the company domain that has purchased the license. Without the membership to the domain the activation will not work.

How to find your Computer ID The Computer ID is used for Node Locked licenses. Within SpinFire Insight this can be done on the Options > Activation Page just above the SeatID field.
