Important Information Floating License Manager Change
SpinFire Insight 2026.1.0 was released on 1st April 2026, major change has been rolled out for the Floating Licenses.
New version of the Floating License Manager 11.19.8.0 will be required forSpinFire Insight 2026.1.0 and later releases.
Any versions before SpinFire 2026.1.0 will not work on the new Floating License Manager 11.19.8.0.
License files created before 2026.1.0 was reelased will not work on the new floating license manager.
Requests for the new floating license files can be made to Support here: Helpdesk for SpinFire Insight.
Site Access and Node Locked license users do not need to worry about this license change, only customers with floating license manager need to take action to update the license and the FLM.

“How do i add a Timeout or do other options for the Floating License Manager?”
You can find instructions for changing the ports for either SpinFire and/or the FLM’s vendor daemon and adding a timeout for the licenses here:
“I need to upgrade to SpinFire Insight 2026.1.0, how do i request new license files, install the new floating license manager and then activate SpinFire Insight?”

“Will i need to reapply the Firewall configuration with the new Floating License Manager version?”
Yes, because the directory path for the FLM has changed as well as the name of the vendor daemon has changed from actifyd.exe to spinfired.exe, instructions can be found here:
Do i need to update the options file for the new FLM?
Yes, if you use the optional options file to set timeout for SpinFire Insight licenses (For example), you will need to rename it from actifyd.opt to spinfired.opt and stop, start and reread the license file for the change to take effect.
Can i personally test SpinFire Insight 2026.1.0 with a temporary license before migrating all my users to the new SpinFire Insight version?
Yes, we can provide you a temporary node locked license if you wish to test SFI 2026.1.0 before rolling it out to your users, please raise a Licensing Request Ticket or alternatively email us at
I am seeing errors about “Cannot get users of xxx: No Socket Connection to License server manager messages in the Server Status in lmtools.exe”
These errors (as long as it’s not SpinFire11 feature) are cosmetic errors and can be ignored. We are currently working on removing these legacy features for future license files provided by Sales or Support.
