SpinFire 2026.1.0 Release Notes
Overview
SpinFire Insight 2026.1.0 introduces several usability and interface improvements that make the product easier to learn, easier to navigate, and more efficient to use in daily workflows. Updates to the Home page, left-side tabs, and Quick Access Toolbar improve access to key actions, support resources, and workspace customization.
The release also modernizes the visual experience through refreshed 3D scene and navigation-aid colors, while PMI and CAD view usability improvements make it easier to work with complex assemblies. Finally, this release introduces a beta parallel-loading option for CATIA V5 assemblies, providing a first step toward improved loading efficiency for large CAD datasets.

Notable Changes
Parallel loading for CATIA V5 assemblies (Beta)
For large CAD assemblies, loading time can become a significant efficiency factor, especially when exact B-rep geometry is needed to support accurate design review and analysis. With this release, Insight introduces an optimized loading method intended to reduce loading time, starting with the CATIA V5 reader. This beta is a first step toward a more scalable and industrialized loading approach, and based on the results and feedback we receive, we will assess how to extend it further, including to other CAD formats such as NX.
Insight now includes a beta option to load CATIA V5 assemblies in parallel using multiple CPU cores. While the standard loading method reads components sequentially in a single process, parallel loading first reads the assembly structure, then processes components across multiple sub-processes before reassembling the results into a single session.
In our internal testing, the most consistent improvements were observed with the Quality and Balanced presets, where exact geometry is read and tessellation is generated during loading. Loading time was often reduced by around 15–20%, with some larger assemblies showing stronger improvements, including internal test cases around 1.4 GB where loading time improved by up to about 38% with the Quality preset.
Benefits were generally more noticeable on larger assemblies. Light and Performance presets also showed improvements in a majority of the tested datasets, although results there were more variable depending on the dataset. As this is a beta feature, observed performance gains may vary depending on the dataset, workflow, and preset used.
Configuration
To use this feature, enable the Enable Parallel Loading option in the CATIA V5 (CV5) reader settings.
By default, Use Recommended CPU Allocation is selected. This sets CPU usage to 80% of total available cores. In all cases, at least 2 CPU cores remain reserved for the system, so users can continue working alongside SpinFire Insight.
If Use Recommended CPU Allocation is cleared, users can define the CPU allocation manually.
The allocation value can be set from 10% to 100%, with the actual number of cores controlled between 1 and the total available cores minus 2.
Improved PMI usability for complex assemblies
CAD assemblies can be large and include numerous components. At the same time, PMIs (Product Manufacturing Information) are increasingly used to fully define the product and provide critical information for use cases such as design review, quoting, manufacturing preparation, and more. In complex assemblies, users need to access these PMIs and the related views easily and efficiently so they can do their work effectively. This release improves PMI accessibility, visibility control, and navigation to related CAD views in complex assemblies.
When a part is hidden in the 3D scene, the visible PMI associated with that part are now hidden automatically as well.
Selecting a part in the 3D scene now highlights the corresponding component in both the CAD View tree and the Annotation tree, making it much easier to locate the right entry and access its CAD views.
Several issues related to PMI and CAD view activation have also been fixed.
New Home page
The Home page now provides a clearer starting point for new users, reducing friction during on-boarding and making key first actions easier to discover. It includes quick-access tiles for opening a file, accessing sample files, and opening Help, as well as short getting-started videos focused on key operations such as file opening, 3D navigation, measurement, and sectioning. Recent documents also remain directly accessible from the Home page.
Improved organization of the left-side tabs
The content accessible from the left-side tabs has been simplified and reorganized to make key items easier to find and access. Important links such as Documentation, Release Notes, and Support options are now more focused and better positioned, while access to Settings and Licensing is clearer and more consistent within the left pane itself. This improves on-boarding, reduces UI friction, and helps users reach useful information and key actions more quickly.
Minor Changes
Improved Quick Access Toolbar customization
Added a first level of Quick Access Toolbar customization, allowing users to choose which existing toolbar commands are shown and to reorder them. This gives users more control over their workspace and makes frequently used actions easier to access.
Improved CAD Importer preset tooltips
Refined the CAD Importer preset tooltips to make them clearer. This helps users better understand the purpose of each preset and choose the most appropriate one for their workflow.
Improved NX Reference Set import settings
Added support for prioritizing NX Reference Sets in the import settings. Users can now define the preferred reference set order, making it easier to control which reference set is used first and which alternatives should be applied if it is not available.
Licensing / Platform / Requirements updates
Floating License Manager update
SpinFire Insight 2026.1.0 requires an update to the Floating License Manager to address a third-party security vulnerability affecting the licensing technology we use. Customers using floating licenses must install Floating License Manager 11.19.8.0 and request new floating license files, as previous license files and the older manager version are not compatible with this release.
Detailed Instructions can be found here: How to migrate to the new Floating License Manager
