SpinFire 2026.2.0 Release Notes
Overview
This release includes a set of improvements focused on making SpinFire Insight easier and more reliable to use in daily workflows.
It improves markup readability, model tree navigation, PMI display control, settings validation, scripting automation, frame rate management, and includes updates for JT and Inventor formats.
It also includes important fixes for viewer behavior, file loading, markup interaction, JT loading time with PMI, and 3D rotation stability.
To coincide with this release, we have updated the SpinFire Insight product documentation to include additional languages: German, Korean, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese.

Changes and improvements
Improved 3D dimension markup positioning for Point-to-Point, Edge Length, and Angle measurements
Dimension markups are now placed and oriented more consistently with the measured geometry, instead of depending mainly on the current camera view. This makes measurements easier to read, reduces ambiguity when reviewing them later, and provides cleaner, more professional markup output when sharing design review results with others.
Updated import presets to simplify the model tree and improve interaction with large models
The Load Surfaces on Demand option is now enabled for all import presets. It was previously disabled for the Balanced and Quality presets.
With this option enabled, the model tree shows bodies without expanding all underlying surfaces by default. This helps keep the tree easier to navigate and can improve interaction performance when working with complex models.
Added a new option to hide PMI when opening models
A new Hide PMI on Load option lets users open models with Product Manufacturing Information (PMI) hidden by default, regardless of the PMI visibility state in the native CAD file.
This helps reduce visual clutter when opening models, especially complex models containing many PMI annotations, so users can focus on the geometry first and start interacting with the model more easily.
This option can be found under CAD Importer Settings > PMIs > Advanced
Improved validation when changing application settings
SpinFire Insight now prevents users from leaving settings pages with unapplied changes. When changes are made in settings areas such as 2D Viewer, 3D Viewer, or Application, users must now either apply or discard the changes before leaving the page.
This makes settings behavior clearer and helps avoid situations where users think a change has been applied when it has not.
Improved access to the Enable Frame Rate option for open documents
The Enable Frame Rate option can now be changed dynamically for an already open document. Previously, this option had to be configured before opening a model, and changing it required reloading the file.
When enabled, this option helps maintain 3D responsiveness during navigation, especially rotation, by temporarily reducing the displayed model detail until the target frame rate is reached.
This makes it easier to start with the option disabled, then activate it only when needed for complex models or slower interactions.
The global setting is still available under Settings > 3D Viewer > Rendering > Enable Frame Rate. For an open document, it can now be changed from the top menu under Settings, then Rendering > Frame Rate Enabled.
Expanded scripting capabilities for view and visibility control
SpinFire Insight scripting now includes additional functions to activate standard views, run Fit Visible, and control item visibility by hiding, showing, or toggling selected items.
These additions make it easier to automate workflows where specific parts or assemblies need to be isolated, displayed from a consistent viewpoint, or prepared for repeatable operations such as review, reporting, or screenshot generation.
Bug fixing
Stability & Performance
Improved loading time when opening JT files containing Product Manufacturing Information (PMI).
Fixed an issue in the Part Properties function where legends were not displayed correctly when using Dark mode.
UI & Interaction
Fixed an issue where 3D Point Note markups could be displayed with an offset from the actual mouse cursor position.
Fixed an issue where points could be selected on the back side of the model when using Legacy Point Selection mode.
Import / Export / File Handling
Fixed a file-specific issue preventing some CATIA V5 files from being read.
Fixed an issue preventing some AutoCAD DWG 2D files from being read.
Fixed an issue preventing thumbnail creation from being disabled when opening a 2D document.
Viewer & Rendering
Fixed an issue where the center of rotation could shift slightly during 3D rotation, causing visible jitter during model navigation.
