Platform Setup With Windows Server
Windows Server 2012 R2 / Windows Server 2008 R2 (Amazon EC2 GPU Instance)
These steps have been tested on the following AMIs: Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 Base - ami-f544a3b1 and Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 Base - ami-7344a337.
- Install a non-RDP Remote access client: i.e. TightVNC. This application should be configured to start automatically when Windows boots. Please ensure the appropriate port forwarding or other network-related options are correctly set up.
- After installation of the remote access client, reboot the machine.
- Reconnect to the machine using the non-RDP remote access client.
- Download the NVIDIA grid graphics driver.
- Install the graphics driver and reboot the machine.
- Open the Device Manager and expand the “Display Adapters” item. Disable “Microsoft Basic Display Adapter.” Note: This may Also appear as “Standard VGA Graphics Adapter”.
- Reboot the machine.
- Download and install the Visual Studio Redistributable listed on the Supported Platforms page.
You are now ready to use HOOPS Communicator.
